Volunteer and Job Opportunities

Victim Advocates:

Advocacy for victims, court accompaniment, IFP assistance, crisis intervention, short-term counseling and case management.

Relief Advocates:

Primarily provides shift coverage at an emergency shelter on an as needed basis. Victim Advocate responsibilities.

POSITION LOCATIONS:

Upper Keys:
One full time Outreach Victim Advocate position.

Middle Keys:
One full time Outreach Victim Advocate position.
Relief Advocate for Shelter

Key West:
One Victim Advocate for Shelter.
Relief Advocate

Domestic Abuse Shelter, Inc. is Monroe County’s certified crisis center serving victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Candidates with a bachelors degree in social work or human service related field with prior experience working with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault preferred. Non degree candidates will be considered that have experience working within the human service arena. All candidates must demonstrate the potential to embrace empowerment-based philosophy as best practices in service victims. Bilingual a plus. EOE.
